Reid goes to 1st grade!

Reid started 1st grade this week and also started at a new school!  We love BCA but it was always our plan for him to start at Wolman (our neighborhood school) in 1st grade.  He was a little bit nervous, but most of the nerves went away when he found out his best buddy Case would be in his class!  We are so thankful for that.

We were very excited to meet Mrs. Gonzales at Meet the Teacher night!

I took him to get ice cream after Meet the Teacher and this picture reminded me of...

these pictures from 3 years ago! :((( I am almost positive we were at the same place.

Our big boy on his first day of 1st grade!

Still smiling on day 3!

He hasn't offered up a lot of information about his first week, but he seems happy (and tired)!  We are looking forward to a great year!

big boy rhett

Our littlest boy hit some big boy milestones over the summer!

I am happy to report that we are a diaper-free household!  I was honestly dreading potty training Rhett because it's just not a fun process, but when it was all said and done, I think he may have been the easiest of the three to train.  It was fun to see his sister and brother get into it and cheer him on! :) He was very proud when he filled up his sticker chart.

I don't know if this is so much a milestone as a boy "rite of passage", but Rhett got his first set of stitches this summer.  He was running in the house and fell at just the right angle to cause the skin under his chin to split right open.  He ended up getting 5 stitches and was SO brave.  I was amazed and so was the doctor!

Last but not least, we are also a crib free household!  Being done with the crib was much harder for me than being done with diapers, but it was time.  Rhett is very proud of his new bed and has done very well with the transition!

As you can see, he has his paci in all three of these pictures, so we still have some signs of a "baby" in our house.  :) Those will probably stick around a little longer!

Second half of summer fun!

Sadly, summer is winding down.  The younger two have three more weeks before school starts, but Reid starts 1st grade next week!  The second half of our summer was less busy than the first half, which is just the way I like it!  Here are a few highlights...

Chris and I celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary with dinner at one of our favorite spots, The Taste of Texas.

We had a blast at our 22nd annual Preston family Surfside vacay!
Guinny's Great Grands -
Reid, Logan, Georgia Kate, Landon, Rhett, Perry, and Jackson.  Baby Luke made his debut a couple of weeks later!

The big kids and I spent a day at Typhoon Texas with our sweet friend/helper Esther Kate!

We had a fun morning at the Children's Museum of Sugar Land with Penny!

The kids and I took a spontaneous trip to the zoo.  It was HOT, but we had a lot of fun!

We had an indoor campout!  Nobody ended up actually sleeping in the tent, but we had popcorn and watched a movie and they enjoyed playing in the tent for the couple of days that we left it up.

Reid had a BLAST at TBarM with his buddy Case!  5 days packed full of fun!
Coach Tate and Coach Luke were awesome!

There were several other undocumented get togethers with old and new friends, but my favorite days were the ones filled with lazy mornings, swimming, and playing at home.

It was a great summer!
