End of School Year Fun!

The last couple of weeks have been full and fun!  May sure is a busy month!

Georgia Kate completed preschool and it came way too quickly for me.   I am so thankful for our sweet, little preschool and the four amazing teachers she had the last two years.  Georgia loves going to school and loves her friends.  I pray that this continues!  

Her graduation ceremony was so sweet.  I didn't cry during her graduation, but I was a mess on the last day of school!

Kindergarten has been such a wonderful experience for Reid!  I love his school so much and feel like it was the perfect fit for him this year.  I will always be grateful for the year he had at BCA!  

Reid had his end of year program.  Programs are not his cup of tea, to say the least.  While he somewhat participated in his Christmas program, he decided to go into statue mode again for the end of year program. ;)

We can't forget about little brother!  He completed his year at Little Gym and was very proud! :)  The Little Gym era has come to an end in our household and I'm kind of sad about it.  I always looked forward to Little Gym classes with my babies.  

Rhett is a trooper and deserves a shout out.  Being the third kid means lots of time in the car, going in and out of schools, and being dragged around to activities.  Next year it's his turn to start preschool and as of now, he's happy about it!

Reid is SEVEN!

REID is SEVEN!  Wow, wow, wow!

7 things about 7 year old Reid...

He looks SO MUCH OLDER today than a year ago.  Those big, permanent front teeth make such a difference.  Combine that with how tall he is for his age and people always think he's 2-3 years older than he actually is.

He is responsible and a rule follower.  He always double checked that he had his folder and homework every morning before school. They had pajama day at some point this year and apparently it was very emphasized that spaghetti straps were not allowed.  He didn't know what those were and must have asked me 20 times that morning if I was sure that his pajamas didn't have spaghetti straps - haha!  He reminds me a lot of myself as a child in this way.

He is still such a numbers guy.  He loves calendars/dates, time, and scores.  He is very proud that he was the  "(math facts) timed test champion" this year.  His number sense is pretty amazing.

He loves playing sports, watching sports, and analyzing sports.  He enjoyed playing basketball and baseball this year and learned some good lessons during those seasons.  He isn't super loyal to any professional or college teams and is definitely more of a bandwagon fan at this point. ;) If they're winning, they're his team!

He has recently been really interested in states!  He likes to sing the "Fifty States" song every night before bed and has started a state quarter collection book.  

He is adored and looked up to by his little brother and sister.  He and Georgia Kate are especially close and now that Rhett is a little older it's been fun to see the boys bond more too.

He enjoys board games, legos, playing outside with friends, swimming, chapter books, surprises (which surprises me!), and jokes.

Celebrating Reid's 7th Birthday

We had a great few days celebrating our big seven year old!  Reid declared that it was "the best birthday ever!" :) 

He opted for a beach weekend with friends instead of a big party this year.  Our good friends Pierce and Emery have birthdays just three days after Reid, so it was a birthday beach weekend for all of them!  We went the weekend before his birthday, which turned out to be the perfect weekend to go.  We had awesome weather and there weren't any crowds.  It was so much fun for all of us (minus Rhett not feeling well for the first day)! 

Grandma and Grandpa's birthday gift for Reid was tickets to an Astros game!  The game was the night before his actual birthday and he loved every second of it!  

I didn't take very many pictures of his actual birthday.  He woke up to balloons, presents, and his breakfast of choice, a Bucee's kolache, which he ended up not eating because he was so full from all of the stuff he ate at the baseball game the night before.  Haha!

He was very excited to use his "free dress" pass at school and bring donut holes for his class.  I took him out at 12 that day (he usually stays for extended care on Wednesdays) and we went to lunch at Firehouse Subs, his favorite!  

That evening we met our whole family at Alicia's for dinner to wrap up the birthday celebrations!

Go Red Sox!

Reid had a great first season at Katy American Little League with the Red Sox!  It was a lot of fun for our whole family!  He really loves baseball and we enjoyed watching him have fun and learn.
