4 weeks

Well, we are about 4 weeks away from meeting our sweet #2 (assuming things go according to plan)!  I am just so, soo, sooo excited.  It's different the second time around.  Yes, I'm a little nervous, but I'm mostly just happy, excited, and grateful.  I know the adjustment will be challenging, but wonderful.

The first time there is so much to think about, prepare for, organize, buy, read about, and just so much unknown.   It's so much easier knowing what to expect!  I recently went to get a few things that we needed for the baby and I was just so happy the whole time.  We didn't need much, but it was just so fun putting things in the basket that I knew would be for him/her.  For the most part, we are ready! Clothes are being washed and ironed by my sweet mom (she loves that kind of thing), the nursery is ready, and we have some diapers.  There are still a few things to do, but overall, I feel like we are prepared.

The things I am anxious about are totally different this time around.  I think what worries me the most is that my relationship with Reid will change.  I love that I can go lay in bed with him in the mornings and just talk, look at books, and take our time waking up.  I love that Chris and I can do bath/bedtime together with him.  I love that Reid and I can pretty much do whatever we want during the week.  I hope we can continue to do some of these things (especially bedtime).  I just know his little world is about to change, although I know it's for the better.  I am also worried about not being able to have that one on one time with the new baby that I had with Reid.  I cherished those first months of laying on the couch and holding him all day.  I am actually really looking forward to waking up at night with the baby for that reason.   I'm worried that time is going to go by even quicker with two children.  Can you tell I'm a worrier?? ;)

I am starting to feel really sentimental that our time as a family of three is coming to a close.  I remember feeling this way before Reid was born (that one chapter was ending and another was beginning), but the last two years have been the best years of our lives and I know it will just keep getting better when we add a new baby to the family!

Obviously, I am SUPER excited for the moment when we hear "It's a ___!" I still totally think it's a baby boy!  I will be very surprised if it's a girl! My pregnancy has been almost identical to Reid's.  I wasn't too sick either time (definitely very nauseous, but only actually got sick once) and the heart rates were both on the lower side.  I really and truly do not have a preference on the gender!  I think that's why it's not hard for me that we don't know.  Each baby is such a gift and who am I to pick out my own gift?! :) I think it would be so special for Reid to have a brother close in age, but I also think he would be such a precious and sweet big brother to a baby sister!

I am trying to really soak up every moment of the next few weeks.  Reid is just so funny right now.  My favorite thing about this age (and I LOVE this age) is the "conversations" we have now!  We will be driving and he will just randomly say something from that day or the day before (ex. "Gwoshee (grocery) store...apples...yewow cot (yellow cart)".  It's his way of starting up a conversation and I just love it!  I can't believe that our first born is going to be a big brother soon.  It feels like yesterday that we were a month away from meeting him.  It's just mind boggling!

I took a few cute pictures of the soon-to-be big brother before church this morning!

To our second baby, we are so in love with you already and are so excited to meet you and find out who you are!!! :)

Weekend Recap

We had a great weekend!!  On Friday, Chris' work gave us a baby shower!  It was really sweet. He hasn't been with this company for very long, so I hadn't met anyone yet.  They all LOVED meeting Reid!

On Friday night we had our precious friends, the Myers family, over for dinner to celebrate Tiffany and Amanda's graduation!  Tiffany was in my mom's first grade class and I started babysitting for them the summer after.  I CANNOT believe they have graduated high school.  We had a wonderful night with them!

Here are a few pictures from the actual graduation last weekend!  So proud of these girls!

For Father's Day we went to brunch with Grandma and Grandpa and then all took Reid to play at Bass Pro Shop.  I think he sat on every single four wheeler and got inside every single boat.  He had the best time!  After that we went to my parents' house to hang out in the pool and have dinner.  It was such a great day celebrating the three wonderful dads in our lives!!!

Reid is SO blessed with two wonderful grandfathers and an amazing daddy that all ADORE him!!! :)
