Celebrating Rhett's 5th Birthday!

 Rhett's birthday fell on a Thursday this year and I'm pretty sure that it's the only time one of my kids has gone to school on their birthday!  He woke up to his birthday balloons and gifts on the kitchen table, then Grandma dropped off some donuts!

 His biggest wish was his very own gumball machine and how could we say no to this face?!

Reid and Georgia Kate both worked so hard to make special gifts for their brother.  They were so proud of them and he was so grateful.  It was the sweetest.  

Rhett's sweet teachers sent me this picture from school.

After school Grandma and Grandpa came over with some gifts for the birthday boy!

Then that evening Mumsie and Popsie and the Loddes came by!

Since he doesn't like cake, he got an ice cream cone with candles. :)

Friday morning we had a deer themed donut party at the park with his class.  His entire class came and it was so much fun!  I loved getting to visit with the moms and see his sweet friends.  It's been hard not getting to go inside the building this year and see the kids and parents!

It's so easy to celebrate you, Rhett!  We love you!

Rhett Michael is 5!

Our baby is FIVE!  Five year old Rhett is a joy!  

5 things about Rhett at 5...

He loves horses, bulls, ropes, an all things rodeo.  He also loves deer, toy guns, toy bows and arrows, fishing, hunting, and all things ranch. 

He's naturally physical and athletic, but isn't sports obsessed like his brother at all.  

He is our wild boy, but he's also SO sweet.  SO, SO sweet.  He's very affectionate and loves to snuggle.  

Rhett is such charmer and can light up a room with his dimpled smile and big, brown eyes.  

He LOVES candy and gum.  

I also have to document a few of his little language quirks before he grows out of them.  He can't quite say his Ls and Rs, so his name comes out like "Whett".  Instead of saying our he says were.  "Can Perry come to were house?"  I love it so much. :)

There's something so bittersweet about the baby of the family growing up.

Fall Extracurricular Activities

 This fall has been (mostly) all about trying new things! 

Reid and Georgia Kate are still enjoying their Friday morning piano lessons and all 3 kids have been doing a ninja challenge class on Friday afternoons.  They offer a homeschool class so we've been able to work it into our week easily.  It's kind of like strength and agility training.  GK has decided it's not really her thing, but the boys are going to keep going!  

Georgia Kate wanted to take a break from dance and try something different.  She decided on softball!  She was excited to get to play on the same team as Maggie-Jaymes, Aubrey, and a couple of other girls she knew.  We loved watching her play and have fun with her team!  Go Spirit!  

After sitting through so many baseball games, it was the boys' turn to cheer the girls on!

She was so lucky to have her own fan club at every game!

When softball season ended, she was ready to move onto something else new!  She started tumbling class a few weeks ago and has really enjoyed it so far!

Reid basically went straight from "spring" (which turned into summer) baseball into fall baseball.  Same coaches, different name!  This boy loves baseball!

We've all been extra thankful for these activities.  It's nice to have something to do that feels kind of normal! 

Disney World 2020

Well, like the true rebels we are, we decided to go to Disney World during Corona times!  We surprised the kids on Sunday morning, Oct. 25th, about an hour before we had to leave the house.  They were shocked and SO excited!  

We flew into Tampa, rented a car, and drove about 45 minutes to our resort.  We stayed at The Grand Floridian and it was beautiful!

After checking in, we headed to Disney Springs for dinner at T-Rex Cafe.  Our little dinosaur lover was thrilled and it was a fun way to kick off the trip!  Disney did a phenomenal job with everything, but it's kind of a bummer that we are wearing masks in 99% of our pictures. 

Day 1 was Magic Kingdom!  A lot of the "experience" parts of Disney aren't happening right now (character meets, big parades, etc.), so this trip was all about the rides!  We basically rode every single ride at Magic Kingdom the first day.  We started with Seven Dwarves Mine Train, which ended up being a favorite for all of us!  We also had a special lunch at Be Our Guest.  The food was delicious!  We stayed from open to close on Days 1&2 (parks are closing early right now at 6:00 or 7:00) and then went back to the hotel and crashed.  

On Day 2 we headed to Hollywood Studios!  We spent most of our time in Toy Story Land and the new Star Wars area.  We also saw a Frozen sing-along and had lunch at the Sci-Fi Diner!

Day 3 was Epcot!  We opted to do Epcot instead of Animal Kingdom on this trip (we did the opposite on our last trip).  This was our most low key day.  We rode Test Track, Frozen, and Soarin, then walked through the countries!  We had the most amazing pizza lunch in "Italy".  We left the park around 4 and then went back to the resort for swimming and fun Halloween treats!

On Day 4 we went back to Magic Kingdom and spent the day riding our favorite rides again and having lunch at Cinderella's Table.  

All in all, it was a wonderful trip!  We were so thankful to get to go and make memories together in the "Happiest Place on Earth"!
