Rhett is 10 months old!

Well, somehow we are already in double digits!  Our little brown eyed boy is 10 months old.  Rhett has turned into the happiest baby.  He is silly, relatively laid back and just as precious as can be.  Rhett is now pulling up and crawling on all fours.  He is very quick and sneaky and usually heads straight for the dogs' water bowl, the stairs, or a cabinet every time he's on the floor.  He also moved into a new car seat and is no longer in the infant carrier.  So many big boy changes this month!  Rhett loves to play with the Chuggington ball and when he sees it he excitedly says "baba" while sitting up super straight, straightening out his legs and twisting and ankles and wrists.  He also has a new interest in Reid's cars and trucks.  I just love how little boys are naturally drawn to anything with wheels.  

Rhett is adjusting to our new school day routine.  I've absolutely loved our days together so far and I'm thankful for some time to focus on just my baby.  He is taking 1-2 naps a day, depending on the day. He takes one really good one in the middle of the day and then sometimes a short one either in the car after preschool drop off or in the car/at home late afternoon.  Rhett still wakes up 2 times every single night, usually around 1:00 and 4:00.  He was not a fan of purees for the first few months, but has a new love of pouches.

We were a month late getting to Rhett's 9 month well check, but we went today!

Back to School!

We had a big week!  It was time to go back to school for Reid and Georgia Kate!  They were READY and had been asking almost every day during the month of August when it was time to start school.  So, on September 7, Reid had his last first day of preschool and Georgia Kate had her very first day!  

We had Meet the Teacher the day before.  I am so thankful that Georgia gets to be in the frog class with  wonderful Ms. Katy and Ms. Jenn!  I am also really excited about Reid's teachers in the alligator class, Ms. Ashley and Ms. Jeanette!

The kids were so excited to have their daddy come with us on the first day!

I snapped a quick picture of Georgia Kate at her table.  She was just a little baby in the stroller like Rhett when Reid was in the frog class.  I can't believe it's her turn!  

After only two days, I am feeling great about our decision to have Reid do the transition class at preschool.  He already seems more confident, has enjoyed meeting new friends, and actually spoke to his teachers (which is huge for him).  He said his favorite part of school so far is the writing center.  I had no idea what to expect with Georgia Kate.  I did know that she would probably handle the whole school thing differently than her brother.  Let's just say that she is NOT terrified to speak. ;)  She loved doing play-doh (because I don't let them get it out at home very often) and was excited to go to the bathroom at school - haha!  She is the very youngest one in her class and is still figuring things out, but I am excited to see how she learns and grows this year!

3 things about our 3

REID

1.  College football is back and Reid could not be more thrilled.  He has had his SEC schedule up on the fridge for a few weeks now.  He has been busy studying the schedule and recalling scores from last year's match ups.  We watched a lot of football this weekend!  

2.  He has really gotten into Legos lately and enjoys spending quiet time by himself in his room working on his creations.  

3.  He wants to be just like his daddy.  He prefers to sleep in t-shirts and athletic shorts these days, and when choosing his t-shirt for the night, he always tries to match it as closely as he can to the t-shirt Chris has on. :)

GEORGIA KATE

1.  She started back at dance a couple of weeks ago!  She was very excited to return and is excited that her friend Emery is in the class next door at the same time.  

2.  She loves to sing and I often catch her humming or singing to herself.  She asks for me to make up a new song for her every night before bed. 

3.  She has started unintentionally speaking in a British accent. :)  It tends to come out more when she's being whiney. 

RHETT

1.  He can pull up!  It doesn't happen too often and it definitely takes a lot of effort, but he has done it a few times!  Big boy!

2.  He has advanced to crawling on all fours instead of only army crawling!  He's getting quick and keeping me on my toes!

3.  He finally outgrew his infant carseat and we moved him to his big boy carseat!  That one was hard for me, but it was time.  :(

Curly Girly

Georgia Kate has been asking to get her hair cut, so I decided to make a fun mother/daughter morning out of it and take her to get her first hair trim!  I took her to a place in town called Planet Curls.  She was very serious the whole time and was just taking in the experience. :) I got my hair trimmed while we were there too!
