Experience Gifts

We always wrap three Christmas gifts each for the kids from us.  This year we decided to make one of those gifts an "experience" gift!

Georgia Kate's gift was getting her nails done with me.  She has never been to the nail salon before, but has always wanted to go.  It was such a sweet morning with my girl and I loved getting to treat her to a special experience!  

We popped into Claire's across the street before our appointment and she picked out a couple of things.  

We made a stop at the pie place afterwards for a yummy treat!  

Reid's gift was going on a behind the scenes tour of Minute Maid Park with his daddy!  He loved learning more about the park and the Astros!  He said his favorite parts were touching the foul pole and going inside the manual scoreboard.

Rhett's gift was tickets to Wild Kratts Live!  Wild Kratts is his favorite show and he was thrilled to get to see Martin and Chris in real life! :)  It's rare to get time with both of us with only one child.  It was a special afternoon with our baby!  

Georgia Kate lost a tooth!

Our baby girl lost her first tooth on January 3rd!  She has been looking forward to this for a long time.  When you are in 1st grade, losing a tooth is a very big deal!  Reid lost his first tooth when he was 5.5 years old and GK was 6.5.  The tooth had been very wiggly for a while, and as excited as she was to lose it, she was terrified to pull it.  We were eating dinner at Alicia's one night and she was in tears because it hurt to eat.  I finally convinced her to go into the bathroom with me and let me "look" at it.  It took one tiny little tug and it was out!

The Tooth Fairy brought a $2 bill for the first tooth! :)

I hope we have a little longer until the top ones come out.  I'm not quite ready for that!  

Christmas Celebrations + New Years

The official Christmas celebrations began on Christmas Eve Eve when Grandma and Grandpa delivered presents for the kids!   

They were so excited to open! :)

Christmas Eve is always our Preston Family Christmas and a day we look forward to all year!

We met at church for the morning Christmas Eve service.  

We spent the rest of the day at Mumsie and Popsie's house for cookie decorating, game playing, gift opening, and lots of eating!

We came home late that evening to set out cookies and milk for Santa and the kids had their annual sleepover in our room.  

Santa came and he brought everyone what they wished for!!!

(Mumsie and Popsie got GK the watch that she wanted more than anything.)

We were up early so we spent the next couple of hours having Jesus' birthday cake for breakfast and playing with our toys.  

I love this picture of Rhett!  GK got a face painting kit and they had SO much fun painting each other's faces.  

Later in the morning we headed to Gonzales for a few hours with the Culpepper crew!  It was a fun afternoon!

After a few days of recovering from the Christmas fun, we went down to the ranch for New Years. 

The boys got to watch Grandpa and Daddy both get deer on this trip and they were fascinated with the whole process. 

This little guy has fallen in love with hunting and ranch life.
