Baseball!

On Saturday we went to College Station with my family for an Aggie baseball game!  The weather could not have been more perfect and we were all happy to spend time outside after almost a solid week of rain.  

The kids did pretty well, but didn't last very long in our seats once we got through the snacks!  :) 

 We found a hilly area, so they spent the majority of the time running up and down!  It was a fun family day!

Earlier that day, Chris and Reid played catch for the first time!  They've practiced hitting a lot, but haven't really worked on throwing and catching until now.  Reid loved it and was really interested!  We decided not to start him in T-Ball until next Spring when he's almost 5, but I'm already looking forward to it!  

The glove Reid is using is really special!  Poppies gave it to him right after he was born!  I found this picture we took of him sitting in the glove when he was only a few days old. :) 

Baseball has always been the sport of choice for the Preston boys, so I am excited to see if Reid goes down that path someday too!  

rodeo days

Rodeo season is always such a fun time of year in Houston and we all enjoyed the festivities this year! 

We went to the Katy Rodeo Parade for the first time ever and had a great time!  

Later that day, we went to the Katy Rodeo with some friends!

Georgia Kate loved looking at the animals.  

Reid participated in the stick horse race!  It was so cute to watch!

Georgia Kate also loved her corn dog.  A lot.  

Reid's school had a Rodeo Day and I loved getting to come hang out with his class while they played the games!

During Spring Break Grandma and Grandpa took the kids to the Houston Rodeo one morning.  

To end our rodeo season, Chris and I went to see Zac Brown Band with our good friends Zack and Katy!

Reid's one more thing...

We usually have 30 minutes to an hour after Georgia Kate is in bed before it's time for Reid to go to bed.  We love that big boy time with him.  Sometimes we will do something all together or sometimes he will get some special time with just one of us.  He calls it his "one more thing".  Some nights he picks coloring or a "crafty" thing, some nights he picks a game, some nights he wants to just play, and some nights he picks to watch a show.  

After our "one more thing", one of us goes up to put him to bed and lay with him until he falls asleep.  On this particular night he asked me to hold his hand until he fell asleep.  It was the sweetest thing and I just wanted to freeze time in that moment!  

Miss Independent

18 months - 2 years is one of my favorite ages so far!  I loved this stage with Reid and I am loving it with Georgia too!  12-18 months is always a little rough, but we're in a sweet spot right now.  However, one thing (among many) that this little one is doing much earlier than her brother is wanting to do everything by herself.  We've started it and there's no turning back.  She wants to get dressed by herself (but can't), pour things herself (but can't), buckle herself in her car seat herself (but can't), and the list goes on! :) While this can be challenging and cause us to run late or make messes, I'm trying to remember to just slow down, be patient, and help her learn.  

Also, we tried a little timeout with her last week and she was way too excited about it!  Anything to be like brother! ;)
