These shoes are made for walking!

Our sweet Peach's walking skills have really taken off over the last couple of days!  She still crawls most of the time, but she has started standing and taking several steps on her own without being prompted. So, I decided it was time to put some real shoes on her little feet!  She was SO proud of them!  

Also, when did my baby get big enough to crawl up the stairs by herself...

Speaking of being a big girl, Georgia Kate has added a few more words to her vocabulary!  She consistently says up (uh), bird (bu), ball (ba).  I love hearing her little voice! :)

On an unrelated note, Reid's new favorite book is Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site.  It's SO cute!  This would be a great gift idea for any little construction loving boy in your life! :) 

Port Aransas 2014

We got back yesterday from a fun few days in Port Aransas with Grandma, Grandpa, Sue, Christie, and Seth!  We played in the sand, Georgia Kate played in the ocean, flew a kite, looked for seashells, went to the aquarium, and just enjoyed being together!  

                                             

First steps and first movie...

Last Thursday evening Georgia Kate started taking steps on her own!  She actually did it the night before for Chris, but I was downstairs, so that doesn't count. ;) She took about 3-4 steps at a time.  Looks like she will be walking soon!  These milestones are so exciting with each child!

On Friday Chris and I took Reid to see his first movie in the theater!  We saw Planes: Fire and Rescue.  I wasn't sure how it would go, but overall, it went well!  We got there too early, so he was pretty antsy by the time the movie started and there were WAY too many previews for a kids' movie.  We kept him busy with m&m's and popcorn. :) We ended up leaving about halfway through the movie.  Reid didn't really get into the plot, but he did love seeing the planes flying around and all of the trucks.  We had fun!

Today was Georgia Kate's first day to go to the church nursery!  I know, she's a year old, but the church nursery is just a big step for me.  I am so happy to report that she did GREAT!  The sweet nursery volunteers said she didn't cry at all and had fun playing.  I was so relieved!  It was promotion Sunday, so it was also Reid's first day in his new class.

Also, a couple of completely unrelated, but adorable things to note…

Reid has started calling Georgia Kate "Peachy" all on his own.  We call her that a lot, but all of a sudden that's what he calls her and it's darling. :)

Georgia Kate said "bye bye" yesterday!  I am counting this as her first word (other than mama and dada)!  We were leaving my parents' house and she just waved and said "ba ba" clear as day!  These milestones are just as exciting the second time around!
