Reid Preston, our first baby, you are FIVE. While it's breaking my heart a little bit to see how quickly you are growing up, I absolutely love seeing the person you are becoming.
During your 5th year, you became a big brother for the second time. I can't think of anyone better for your little sister and little brother to look up to. You are patient with Georgia Kate and so protective of her. You love baby Rhett and are so happy when he looks at you, touches you, smiles, and laughs. :) You are Georgia Kate have become really close this year and I am excited to watch your relationship with Rhett continue to grow.
You give the best eskimo kisses.
You are TERRIFIED of bugs.
You have some pretty awesome dance moves. You are not typically super silly (it's just not your personality), so I love watching you be silly and dance!
You love "fast cars" (sports cars) and are always looking out for them when we are driving. I am a little sad that you aren't as fascinated with diggers, firetrucks, and trains as you used to be.
You love games of any kind - board games, card games, outside games, and sports. I've decided that your love language is quality time, specifically quality time playing games. Even more specifically quality time playing games really early in the morning. :) You are VERY competitive. This trait has caught me by surprise because you have always been so laid back in most other ways. You just wrapped up your first season of T-Ball and really seemed to enjoy it. We think you are a natural! :)
You love numbers - scores, calendars, and birthdays. It's amazing to me how your mind works with them. You have all of your family members' and friends' birthdays memorized. You love calculating how many days until whatever it is you are looking forward to. You love keeping track of scores in sports and figuring out who is winning and by how many points.
Just in the last couple of months, you have started to seem so much more grown up to me. You are becoming more responsible and doing things like putting your shoes in the basket and taking your dishes to the sink without being asked. You can turn on your own show in the morning and pretty much get ready for school by yourself. It's a bittersweet thing for a mommy! I am thankful for the times like when you want to sleep in our bed when there is thunder, that remind me you are still little. :)
