Beach Photo Session

We decided to hire a photographer to do a photo session of our family on the beach!  It was insanely windy and Rhett hated the sand (which made things a little challenging), but she still managed to get some great pictures!

Florida Trip

Last week we enjoyed 7 wonderful days on beautiful 30A in Florida!  We had a full house with Mumsie, Popsie, Alli, John, Perry, Thomas, Rebecca, and our five!  Going to the beach with three kids (especially an 18 month old) has its challenges, but it is always more than worth it in the end and we were so grateful to get to go!

We mostly spent the week between the beach and the house/backyard pool with a few outings sprinkled in.  We played in the sand, jumped in the waves, hung out in the pool, played games, did puzzles, hunted for crabs at night, and more!  Almost every day we went down to the beach in the morning and then came back up for lunch and Rhett's nap.  We cooked at the house most nights, which made it easy to have some combination of pool time and beach time in the afternoons and evenings without worrying about getting dressed to go somewhere.  Our very favorite time of day to be at the beach was after dinner!  It was not crowded, breezy, and just perfect!

Not necessarily in order, here are some snapshots of our week at the beach!

Rhett hated the sand from the moment he stepped foot on it until literally the last 30 minutes of the trip.  Of course. ;) After a couple of days he was okay standing on it, but he refused to touch it or sit on it until that last evening.

How precious is this baby girl?!

And this baby boy?!

This is my favorite series of pictures!  All three kids LOVED the water.  Pure joy!

Finally liking the sand on our last evening at the beach...

One afternoon we drove into Destin to eat dinner at Fudpuckers.  We always went there when we came to the beach as kids, so it was fun to go back with our own kids!  After dinner we went to a fun place with go carts and other rides.  The kids had a blast!

One rainy day Georgia Kate and I snuck out with Mumsie, Popsie, Alli, John, and Perry to Rosemary Beach for lunch, shopping, and ice cream. :)

Mumsie and Popsie sweetly offered to watch the kids one afternoon so that the "big kids" could go to Seaside and have dinner at our favorite spot, The Great Southern Cafe.  Seaside is my favorite!  We took the kids to get ice cream at a fun, new place afterwards. :)

I love this picture of Mumsie and Popsie watching the kids play on our last day!

We broke the drive up over two days on the way there, but pushed through and drove for over 12 hours on the way home.  All in all, the kids were troopers.  We are missing the beach already!  It was a great week!
