Yeehaw!

On Saturday night we met up with some friends at the Katy Rodeo!  It was so much fun!  Reid loved seeing all of the animals of course.

This was only the third time he's worn jeans in his entire life (Alli's boyfriend John got him this pair for Christmas).  I have to admit, he looked pretty cute.  I'm just not used to him looking so grown up!  Chris put his foot down and didn't allow him to wear his smocked cowboy jon-jon to the rodeo.  Gasp!  My friend let Reid borrow these cute little cowboy boots!  He was so funny when we put them on.  He just stood there frozen with his arms out to the side.  He looked like he just put ice skates on for the first time!

Here are some pictures of my adorable little cowboy and his adorable friends!

And just because I love this  picture...

Sushi and Valentine's Day

All I've wanted to eat lately is sushi.  SO strange.  I only like ONE thing at a sushi place and it's basically a roll of crab and avocado, fully cooked of course.  I am probably one of the pickiest people ever and generally not a seafood fan, but I promise, it's SO good! I'm really trying to limit myself because I know you aren't supposed to eat too much fish when you're pregnant.  It's not necessarily that I'm craving it, it's just one of the only things that sounds good to me other than salads and fruit/fruity things.  With Reid all I wanted was lemonade ALL THE TIME. It could have been 15 degrees outside and I still wanted lemonade. :)

Anyway, Valentine's Day.  We aren't big Valentine's Day people, but I still wanted to have a fun day with Reid!  First, I took him to Shipley's for a little mommy/son date where I forced him to eat 2 donut holes (I'm so mean).

Not so sure...
This picture cracks me up.  Staring down the donut hole...
Overall, he wasn't that impressed, but he managed to eat 2.

We heard the Budweiser Clydesdales were in town for the NBA all-star game and they were at the Equestrian Center in Katy for the week!  I had never actually been to the Equestrian Center before and it was SO NEAT!! Reid and I stayed for over an hour looking at all the horses (including the giant Clydesdales) and running around in the dirt.  It was a little boy's paradise!! :) He LOVED watching the horses run in the arena.  He kept pointing and laughing and making his adorable little horse sound.

We spent the afternoon playing outside after his nap.  It was a beautiful day!  The three of us went to Los Cucos for dinner that night so Reid could indulge in his favorite food...chips and salsa/queso.  I just have to say, mexican food is not that good without a margarita or 7 diet cokes.  This baby is more than worth it though! :)

My Valentines

We were cracking up because Reid is such a chip hoarder.  He would gather about 5 and hold them up to his chest like he was afraid someone was going to take them.  So funny!

So thankful for my loves! :)

Weekend of fun!

We had a busy, but really fun weekend!!  On Friday night I got to go to a gender reveal party for TWINS!  It was my first one to ever go to and it was so much fun!  These babies have been waited for and prayed for for SO long and it was absolutely wonderful to get to celebrate them!  I am so excited to meet Kendra's baby BOYS this summer!!! :)  Saturday morning I got to celebrate more twins!!! I helped host a baby shower for my dear friend Amanda and her twins Colby and Clara! :) Again, these babies have also been waited for and prayed for for a long time and I was sooo excited that it was finally time for their shower!!!

Allison and I with the beautiful mommy to be!

After the shower I went to watch my cousin Samantha in her dance competition!  I didn't get a picture, but she looked adorable and was the best dancer out there! :)

I took a few pictures of Reid before church this morning.  He is doing better and better in the nursery each week!  We are making progress!  This is his "fake smile".
This is a little more casual than I would typically dress him for church, but I want him to get to wear his cute little Valentine's shirt as much as he can this month!  Do you see how the airplane steam is making a heart? :)

After church we went to my parents' house for lunch.  My great-aunt and great-uncle were in town from Midland and this was their first time to meet Reid.  It was so wonderful to spend time with them!

It was a great weekend!!

under the weather

My poor baby hasn't been himself this week! :( He's had a fever off and on all week, along with a runny nose and yucky cough.  He was up all night last night coughing and was just pitiful, so I decided to take him to the doctor today.  I wasn't going to take him because I figured they would tell me that it just needed to run its course, but it turns out that he has his first ear infection!   We've been very lucky in that he hardly ever gets sick.  I think we've only had one other "sick visit" his entire life.  We started him tonight on an antibiotic.  Luckily he took it like a champ and kept saying "mo, mo" (more). :)  Of course the whole time we were in the room he was acting completely fine and having a great time! It's always fun to get to see how much he's grown when we go to the doctor.  Today he was about 28.5 pounds!

I am so thankful for a healthy child.  It's definitely not something to take for granted!

mish mash

I'm 15 weeks pregnant today and still just so excited and SO thankful for this precious life.  I am in the stage of pregnancy when I don't feel pregnant.  I think I am pretty much done not feeling well, but I don't feel the baby move and I don't have a bump (well, at least not a baby bump).  I remember this stage with Reid too.  We decided on our names a few weeks ago (we had actually decided before we were pregnant, but revisited the topic a few weeks ago just to be sure), but I am not planning to put them on the blog.  I realize that I am totally doing this to myself by choosing not to find out the gender, but I am really attached to both of our names!! I will be sad to not get to use one.  For the record, I am really thinking this baby is a boy!  I would absolutely love that.  I would also absolutely love if it was a girl.  We would love to have 3 kids though (if we are blessed with 3), so maybe we will get to use both names eventually! :)

Reid has found a new love for climbing, so between that and the gorgeous weather we've had for the last few days, we have spent a lot of time visiting different parks around Katy!  We have had a lot of fun together.  We always do!  Reid is still obsessed with animals and  every morning he usually picks 2 or 3 of his animals to be the chosen ones that get to be carried around ALL DAY.  By all day, I mean, they do not leave his side for anything...meals, diaper changes, car rides, going in stores, or sleeping.

Here he is at the park with his giraffe, tiger, and random elephant flash card.

He wouldn't let the animals go when we were playing with play-dough either.  Such a multi-tasker. :)

Tonight we ventured into Houston to hang out with Auntie Alli and John!  We had a great time!  We took Reid to a playground/dog park near Alli's house.  He had so much fun playing and watching the dogs.  Then we had a yummy dinner before heading to The Chocolate Bar for dessert!  Reid and I shared some ice cream.  He was so excited and ate SO MUCH of it!  I was worried he wouldn't go to sleep tonight! :)

Happy Weekend! :)
