Rhett Lately

Oh, this boy!  I feel like kids change so quickly at this age!  Here are just a few things I want to remember about our little Rhett Michael right now.

*He is very aware and proud of his role as "big cousin" to Perry.  When he talks to her or asks or something, he uses the sweetest, kind of high pitched voice.  He LOVES her and although they definitely have their moments of fighting like siblings, they also have so much fun together!

*He has started calling me "Mommy Kate" and Chris "Daddy Kate"!  Ha!  He refers to himself as "Rhett Mico" (Michael).

*He loves when we hang his artwork on the fridge and when he is coloring or painting, he will put a couple of marks on a page and then bring it over to hang up before starting on another one.

*He loves to sing and dance!  He makes the most hilarious facial expressions when he dances.  Such a ham!

*He is such a snuggler.  He loves to "snuggle momma" on the couch.

*He loves telling knock knock jokes and they all involve an animal and the noise it makes.  His go to joke is, "Knock Knock.  Who's there?  Cow.  Cow who? MOOO!"

*His favorite song for me to sing to him before bed is "We Wish You a Merry Christmas". :)

This boy wears us out and keeps us on our toes and we adore him!

Christmas and New Years 2017

Christmas this year was a little bit different than normal, but still wonderful!  The kids are at such fun ages and we had a great couple of days celebrating Christmas with our families!  We have so much to be thankful for!

We have December 23rd traditions of letting siblings exchange gifts and making a birthday cake for Jesus.  Georgia picked out a super hero lego set for Reid and Reid picked out a Jasmine princess for Georgia.  I loved seeing them get excited about choosing something for the other!  They gave Rhett some fake dirt and toy pigs. :)

We spent Christmas Eve with Mumsie, Popsie, Thomas, and Rebecca.  The Loddes were in Wisconsin and we missed them!  Since Christmas Eve was on a Sunday this year, we went to church in the morning instead of the afternoon like we usually do.

We all came back to our house afterwards for a day of gingerbread houses, cookie decorating, present opening, and eating lots of yummy food.  It was strange not being at Mumsie and Popsie's house for Christmas Eve (since their house isn't ready), but we still had a fun day!

We started a new tradition of riding around in the back of the truck looking at lights before everyone headed home!  The kids LOVED this!

The big kids slept in our room in sleeping bags like they do every year.  We will let Rhett join in on the fun next year! :)

While they were asleep, Santa came!!! He brought the kids just what they wanted - a pink and blue bike for GK, a race track for Reid, and some blocks and trucks for Rhett.  Everyone was very happy!

The kids opened their presents from us and then Grandma, Grandpa, Sue, Christie, and Seth came over!

We headed to the ranch for New Years Eve weekend this year and had a great time!  The kids have a blast just being outside in the wide open space.  They love collecting rocks, riding around in the gators, and learning the ropes of life at the ranch.  It was a cold weekend and we loved it!!

Chris and Grandpa put on a great fireworks show and the kids loved doing sparklers!

We are ready for 2018!
