Thanksgiving 2017

It's been a wonderful week!

Reid and Georgia Kate both had Thanksgiving feasts at school last Thursday.  Unfortunately, they were at the same time.  Georgia's class only needed two volunteers and parents weren't coming for the most part, so I decided to go to Reid's this time.  His school watched A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and they served bread slices, popcorn, and jelly beans just like they do in the movie.  It was cute!

This is Reid's favorite school buddy, James.

This sweet little pilgrim girl enjoyed turkey, green beans, fruit, a roll, and a blueberry muffin.

Chris and his parents took the kids to the ranch on Saturday morning and I stayed here!  Chris ended up bringing Rhett back a couple of days early on Sunday evening because he wasn't feeling well, but I had almost two full days in my house!  I missed my people, but I stayed very busy.  I got SO much done and managed to relax a little bit too.

The kids were excited to come home to a house that had been decorated for Christmas!  I surprised them with these tiny trees in their rooms. :)

We went to John, Alli, and Perry's house for Thanksgiving!

I'm so thankful for these little turkeys...

The whole crew!

Tonight we had our traditional day after Thanksgiving tree decorating night!  The kids each get Christmas pajamas, a Christmas book, and an ornament that represents something about them from that year.  They love this night and so do we!

Reid got books because this was the year he really became a reader.

GK got a princess because she's into all things pink, girly, and princess related.

Rhett got a monkey because he's wild and climbs on everything! :)

My favorite place to be is reading a book with my babies in my lap.

We have so much to be thankful for!

Celebrating Rhett's birthday!

We had a fun filled day celebrating our TWO year old!

Last night as a one year old!

We got donuts and kolaches for breakfast, which the birthday boy ended up not eating. :) Reid and Georgia sure were happy about it!

Then it was time to give Rhett his gifts from us - a balance bike and a new helmet!  He has been wanting to ride a bike like the big kids, so we decided to give the balance bike a try!  So far, he's loving it!

We made a morning visit to the park to see the ducks and play!

After lunch and a nap, we headed to the zoo with our families!  The plan was to be at the zoo for the last two hours until they closed, but when we got there, we realized they were closing an hour earlier than normal due to the start of Zoo Lights.  Boo!  It ended up being a speedy zoo trip, but I think everyone still had fun!

The whole crew!  This boy sure is loved!

After the zoo, we all went to dinner at a place called Mia's.  Rhett chose to skip dinner and cake and only ate the free frozen yogurt!

Rhett fell asleep on the way home and then as soon as we got him out of the car, he threw up EVERYWHERE.  All over Chris, all over the garage... everywhere.  We have no idea what happened because he was completely fine the next day, but it sure was a sad way for the birthday boy's day to end.  We gave him a quick bath and tucked him into bed as a big two year old.

We loved celebrating our sweet Rhett all day!

Rhett is 2!

Our baby is TWO!  Oh, how we love our Rhett Michael!

When I think of a word to sum up our precious third born, INTENSE is a word that comes to mind - ha!  We always say that it's a good thing he's so cute.  :) Those big, brown, puppy eyes and sweet dimples get me every time!  The second he wakes up he YELLS, "Mommy!!!" or "Daddy!!!" loudly and repeatedly until we come get him.  He is a little tornado and loves to pull things out of cabinets and drawers, dump out games, etc.  He has discovered that he can drag the kitchen chairs around to climb onto the counters or reach the water button on the refrigerator and press it over and over until he's standing in a pool of water.  He is our only child that climbed out of his crib.  I guess he doesn't know that I plan on keeping him in it until he's five! ;) We lowered the mattress to the ground and that is working for now.  He is such a little monkey! He wants to do everything that the big kids do, which can be equally cute and frustrating.  Since turning his car seat to forward facing, he's become quite the backseat driver!  He is all boy.  He loves being outside and playing with the bat and ball.  He loves being chased and tickled.  He loves wrestling and jumping.  He does actually sit still for books a lot of the time!  Some of his favorites right now are Little Blue Truck, Big Red Barn, and Brown Bear Brown Bear.

Rhett's talking has really taken off the last month or so!  I absolutely love hearing his sweet voice.  He has a lot to say!  Like most two year olds, his favorite word is NO.  He also says (yells), "No want it!" when he doesn't like something or "op it!" (stop it).  The "why" phase has already started.  Some of my favorite things he says are - "oshy" (what he named his paci), "beep beep" (when he wants someone to move), "mere" (come here) and "aw man"!  He calls Reid "budder" (brother), "buddy" or "ree" and he calls Georgia "hissy" (sissy), "GG", or "jaja".

We are so thankful for this boy and we love him SO SO much!  Happy 2nd birthday, Rhett!!!

Reid and Georgia Kate Update

Rhett will get his own update next week when he turns TWO, but I wanted to jot down a few things about the "big kids" right now!

Georgia Kate is LOVING school.  She told me that her favorite thing about school is learning how to write!  I love hearing all about her days.  She thinks everything they do is fun and I love that about her!  She loves her friends and gets so excited to see them.  She passes out compliments freely and I love how she encourages her brothers.  I'm not necessarily proud of this, but she is obsessed with watching TV.  She actually told us today that when she grows up she wants to be a person that watches shows all day. (#goals) Her favorite shows are Sofia the First and Lion Guard.  Honorable mention goes to PJ Masks and Wild Kratts.  Speaking of shows, she kind of prefers the "scary" episodes.  Ha!  She loves anything crafty and I've enjoyed watching her drawing develop over the last couple of months.  She is definitely a girly girl and is into princesses, dolls, and mermaids, but she can hang with the boys!  She is our snuggler and I sometimes refer to her as velcro. ;) She is a jokester, stubborn as all get out, has the best bed head in all the land, and is the sweetest big sister.  She loves and feels deeply.  We love our girl!!

Reid is also LOVING school!  He is crazy smart and his number sense is insane.  He is focused, works hard, and takes pride in his work.  His teacher (whom I adore) told me that he is a leader among his class and that everyone loves him.  We are so proud of him!  *I can brag a little since it's my own private blog. ;)
He is still very competitive.  His sports obsession has reached the point of being slightly concerning (and I'm only halfway joking).  While he goes back and forth between wanting to be a professional football or baseball player (baseball please), we think he may find his calling as a sports data/statistics analyst.   Reid has made friends with a little boy across the street and they've been meeting in the front yard a few times a week to play their own world series!  When he's not playing, watching, or obsessing about sports, he is either building something with legos or playing a board game by himself by being both sides.  Ha!  He just lost his 6th tooth and is looking way too grown up for my liking.  We love this big boy of ours!

Halloween 2017

Our Halloween was fun and low key this year!  Our families came over for pizza and then we went out to trick or treat (in the drizzly rain) with Case and Maggie-Jaymes!

The kids chose their own costumes (R and GK chose Rhett's) and they were so excited about them!  I present Red Power Ranger, Marshall, and Sofia the First...

Just a little family picture ;)

We love Perry the Pink Poodle!!

A great time was had by all!
