Reid's Surgery

Last week, Reid had a minor surgery to correct a hernia.  We've had it scheduled for over a month, but due to his anxiety, we chose not to tell him about it until the night before.  We talked him through how the morning would go without telling him about the actual surgery part.  We were there for almost three hours before the actual surgery started and I'm pretty sure he was having a blast!  He loved the tv by the bed (and even found some football to watch) and riding the big wheel around.  He really didn't seem nervous.  The hardest part was when he had to walk the rest of the way to the OR without us, which we tried to prepare him for.  He was SO brave and I was so proud of him.  We could not have been more impressed with Texas Children's Hospital.  Every single person we came in contact with was wonderful and the whole experience was so positive.  Reid has bounced right back and we are having to remind him that he isn't supposed to run around for two weeks!
